Power Flush
What is Power Flushing?
Power flushing is the process by which heating systems are forcibly cleansed using water at high velocity, but low pressure. The powerful flow, will dislodge and mobilise deposits and corrosion which resist traditional system cleaning methods. The water is pumped at a higher velocity than your usual system would achieve as a power flush needs to remove very stubborn particles that require a high velocity to remove.
Our Service
We perform power flushing at low pressure levels to ensure that no physical damage is caused to the system and this makes power flushing possible on virtually any system. Once the corrosion and sludge deposits have been loosened and mobilised, fresh clean water is forced through the heating system, pushing the contaminated water out. This flushing removes sludge and corrosion from the system which build up over time. Without a power flush, sludge can seriously effect the efficiency of your central heating system by up to 5%, it can lead to higher fuel bills and can bring forward the time when you need to replace some or all of the system.
Power Flushing and New Boilers
It is also important when installing new boilers into old systems that all sludge is first removed from the system or this could accumulate in the new boiler and lead to premature failure. Additionally, in hard water areas existing systems will have accumulated limescale together with corrosion deposits in the heat exchanger, which could easily reduce the boiler efficiency by over 5%.
In many cases people have replaced boilers and carried costly work to central heating systems, which have made little or no improvement in performance. Boiler manufacturers recommend that a heating system should be power flushed immediately before a new boiler is fitted to an existing system in fact some manufacturers even make the boiler’s warranty conditional on this.
We offer a complete service to our customers by offering:
- An initial examination of your system
- Clear advice and recommendations
- Thorough, efficient and clean workmanship
- Specialist experience
- Fully product trained and insured engineers
- Reliability, courtesy and professionalism
A Power Flush clean takes about a day from set-up to completion and after power flushing your system we will leave it working with fresh clean water and balanced with a corrosion inhibitor ensuring excellent operation.
